Sepali Guruge est professeure titulaire à l’École des sciences infirmières Daphne Cockwell. Au cours des 25 dernières années, Sepali a fait preuve d’un engagement indéfectible à accroître la visibilité et à mettre en valeur la résilience des populations marginalisées. Son programme de recherche porte sur la santé des immigrants, avec une attention particulière aux intersections complexes entre la santé, l’immigration, le genre, la violence et le vieillissement. Elle a dirigé des projets connexes dans plusieurs pays.

Kaveenaa Chandrasekaran, Toronto Metropolitan University

Gestionnaire de projet

Kaveenaa Chandrasekaran is a Registered Nurse with diverse experiences in various care settings, including acute care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, rehabilitation, and community health. Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Kaveenaa is committed to supporting nursing students, new graduates, and internationally trained nurses within the care setting. In 2024, Kaveenaa earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Toronto Metropolitan University. Her thesis examined the health implications of social isolation and loneliness among older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting critical issues that have emerged in contemporary healthcare. Kaveenaa has actively participated in various research projects and initiatives focused on integrating Indigenous education into the undergraduate nursing curriculum. Additionally, she has contributed to suicide prevention efforts within the Sri Lankan Tamil community, addressing critical mental health challenges and promoting awareness and support.
